The Pinotage Story |

The capricious birth of the Pinotage cultivar came about when Abraham Perold combined the Cinsault and Pinot Noir varieties and planted four seeds during the 1920’s. |
|
The four seedlings growing in a forgotten, overgrown patch of soil were saved from extinction when Stellenbosch University required the area for further development. |
